How to Make an Appointment at the Apple Store

From your Mac laptop to your iPhone, Apple products have probably become a part of your life — so much so that when yours isn't working correctly, it can turn your whole day upside down. Sometimes, all you need to fix it is a quick Google search, or you can visit the Apple Support site and get in touch with an expert via email, chat or phone. But sometimes, your Apple product needs require you to see someone in person. That's when you need to know how to make an appointment at your local Apple Store.

Visit the Apple Support Site

Start by visiting Apple's support website at Getsupport.apple.com. You'll see a list of potential products or issues you need help with, like billing, music, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, apps, your Apple ID and more. Click on the device or issue you're having trouble with.

Choose the Appropriate Topic

Once you've selected your main problem, you'll go to a new page to pick a subcategory relating to your problem with your Apple product. For example, if you chose iPhone, you'll see options like battery and charging, physical damage, Apple ID, connectivity, subscriptions, system performance and more. Select the one that best meets your needs.

Choose the Appropriate Issue

After you select the main topic that relates to the problem you're having, you'll see a page providing you with even more detailed options. For example, if you selected battery and charging for your iPhone, you'll have options like battery replacement, battery questions or troubleshooting, device slow or unresponsive to touch and power adaptor not working as expected. Choose the one that best describes your issue. If you don't see an option you like, you can also select "the topic is not listed," and you'll get the opportunity to describe it yourself in 140 characters or less.

Choose to Visit the Store

Now that Apple has an idea of what you need, you can choose how you want the company's experts to handle it. Your options include sending the device through the mail, calling Apple support on the phone, scheduling a future call, starting a chat session online or bringing the device into an Apple Store or authorized Apple Service Provider. Choose the option for bringing your device into the store or to the authorized service provider.

Sign In

When you get this far in the process, Apple will ask for your ID and password to ensure you are indeed one of their customers. Apple may also send a verification code to your device to ensure you are the person signing into your account. You may also have to answer a few questions about privacy and whether you trust the browser you're using.

Select a Store, Date and Time

Once you've signed in, you can begin setting up your appointment. First, the site will ask for your current location or detect it if you give it permission. This allows Apple Support to show you where you can find an Apple Store or service provider closests to your home. You may also have to provide your service provider for select devices, like the iPhone. The site will provide you with a map and a list of nearby stores, along with when the next available appointment is. Select the one you want, choose the best date and time for you and you're all set.
